King of the Bay, KOB

I sailed in the KOB races this weekend in San Fransisco. It’s for the International 505, one design sailing class; youtube has some great shots. Anyway, I had a great time, and didn’t do too badly considering…

Anyway, it occurs to me that sailing is about the only sport I can think of where amateurs can compete head-to-head against the pros. Olympians, America’s Cup sailers, and so on  were there practicing in the KOB for the 505 World Championships, which will be held in SF later this year. And Steve and I were right there with them, at least at the start. I took a couple of pictures, and if they come out, I’ll post them.
